Jenny is the Nutritional Guru, eating plan agony aunt to the stars; she’s helped TV presenters like Ruth Langsford and Joanna Page from Gavin & Stacy. Through her clinic she’s worked with a host of teenagers and children having been approached by their worried parents, with irregular eating habits, ACNE, and stress to name a few, giving her an unprecedented insight in how to address what young people eat, and why they eat it. A regular writer for various National newspapers and magazines she has the qualification and experience to back up her advice.
As a mother of two with nearly ten years nutrition experience and a passion for food, she’s helped parents and kids find the best foods and recipes for their bodies.
Over time she has developed tactics and ways to encourage her children to become bolder with their food choices. By and large she would now call her own daughter an adventurous eater, in the sense that she will try anything Jenny presents her with. However, when she started school in 2009 she told Jenny that she didn’t like sandwiches.
“What on earth am I going to put in her lunchbox if she doesn’t want sandwiches?” . As time progressed Jenny had greater and greater success with her lunchbox food ideas and in 2010 began posting these ideas on a Facebook page to share with other parents. It became so popular that she wrote a book called ‘Not Just Sandwiches – 5 ways to improve your child’s lunchbox’.
In 2013, based on the popularity of the book she set up www.lunchboxdoctor.com to provide recipes for kids, lunchbox ideas and nutrition advice. She runs regular clinics, workshops and webinars both in the UK and abroad. Jenny is a vocal supporter of the rights of parents to send their children to school with a packed lunch against the recent government report on school food.
Over a period of 8 months she will be releasing short web videos in an online series to accompany the book covering everything you need to know about feeding a fussy kid a nutritionally balanced lunchbox, with loads of tips and advice on planning a menu for allergy sufferers. She’ll even show you how to make the box the food is carried in more appealing.
